October 8-10, 2021
Pine Lake Camp in Waupaca, WI
Imagine a cool autumn day gathered together in God's creation
The chapel filled with heartfelt women worshiping in His name
A starry night around a roaring bonfire singing praises
Imagine a weekend of growing in your faith
The worship team will lead us through uplifting harvest songs followed by our guest speaker, Kathy Schwanke. A special message on growing our faith and sharing it with everyone we meet will be the focus for our weekend retreat in the woods.
Free Time Activities
Need an energy boost? Join the Sola Gratia class, a Christian version of Zumba. Need to relax? Try Soul Moves! A Christian Therapeutic Stretch alternative to Yoga. If neither of those interests you then head over to the Retreat Center for games, puzzles, crafts, Bingo or shop at Inspired Gifts.
Small Group Sessions
Keeping it intimate gives everyone a chance to participate. We meet as one group at the beginning of each session then break into small groups to dig deeper in the Word. A wonderful time to make new friends or rekindle old friendships.
What is a retreat without the traditional bonfire? Friday night includes a time for singing and Bible study. Saturday night is a time for s'mores, popcorn and plenty of stories to share! Gaze at the stars, unwind from reality and breathe in all of God's goodness with your friends.
Harvest Games & Crafts
Harvest games and crafts are part of this retreat experience. Friendly competition promotes team spirit and creates a bond with your small group. The best part of crafting is encouraging each other on the masterpieces everyone is creating!
Cabins or Retreat Center
Slumber in one of Pine Lake's cabins or the Retreat Center. The cabins sleep 6 each with a shared bathroom and you bring your own linens. Retreat Center has 2 beds per room with bathroom and full linen service. Book early to get the preferred accommodations and roommate request.
Meet Our Guest Speaker
Kathy Schwanke — Wife, Mom of two, and self-titled “Granny”, Kathy Schwanke (rhymes with donkey!) is a speaker and Bible study author. She loves encouraging women on their journey with Jesus through story and the Word of God.
Kathy has also served as Women's Ministry Director, Bible Study leader, Sunday school teacher, and mentor to both youth and women.
Prior to and alongside ministry, Kathy’s propensity for artistic expression and her love for beauty drew her into the world of hairstyling in the late ‘80’s big-hair days. After having her first baby, she left the land of perms and foils, and took up crafting with wood and floral design.
Due to her family’s many moves, she found her forté in home-remodeling, decorating, landscape and gardening. She also spent nine years running a little gift shop on her farm in Amery, WI. She fondly named her store “Bittersweet Farm” after the vine growing on her windmill—which she bravely climbed every fall to harvest.
Kathy and her husband Dale have been married 38 years. They currently live on a (different) little farm in Clear Lake, Wisconsin. They love morning coffee, scenic drives, and bike rides in the summer. They especially enjoy spending time with their family. Both of their children are married and both families are expecting their fifth child(!!!)
